A defect-rich layered double hydroxide nanofiber filter with solar-driven regeneration for wastewater treatment

The need for environmental technology treatment of contaminants emerging concerns (CECs) is increasing as CECs lead to detrimental effects on human health and ecosystems. Herein, defect-rich layered double hydroxide (LDH) structured into a fibrous filter with facile solar-driven regeneration function was fabricated efficiently removing adsorbed in wastewater. physical chemical interactions between the LDH are revealed. It demonstrated that introduction unsaturated Cu?+ sites (? < 2) creating oxygen vacancies represents an effective way improving adsorbing activity host layer. Also, nanofiber-particle friction coefficient hierarchical affects filtration efficiency revealed by 3D modelling. capable filtrating sixteen types shows capability photocatalytic degradation CECs, thus enabling regeneration. This work presents new perspective bottom-up design adsorbent materials: from molecular shaping adsorbents microscopic nanofibers assembling these macroscopic filters.
